Hi, I'm Julie — and welcome to Julie's Sweet Treats!
I have a confession: this business has been "in the works" since I was a pre-teen. Not the boring planning-a-business kind of in the works, either. I'm talking the important stuff — I had the name, the colors, and yes, the polka dots all figured out before I even turned 12. Some kids dream about being astronauts. I dreamed about a chocolate shop with a signature look.
Here's how it actually started: sometime between 10 and 12 years old (my memory's a little fuzzy on the exact age, but the moment itself I remember perfectly), a family friend invited us to her New Year's Eve party. That night, I tried my first ever chocolate-dipped Oreo — made by hand, by her, right in her own kitchen. I was hooked instantly. I couldn't believe someone could just make something like that. That summer, she taught me how to dip chocolates myself, and I never really stopped.
From there, that dream lived in my kitchen. I made chocolates for family gatherings, then custom orders for close friends, perfecting recipes one batch at a time (and eating my fair share of "quality control" along the way). In 2013, I met my husband Michael, and in 2017, I finally turned the dream into something real: Julie's Sweet Treats was born. We got married in 2019, and life just kept getting sweeter — our daughter Siena joined us in September 2024, and our son Cooper arrived in June 2026.
And in February 2026, after all those years of kitchen counters and custom orders, we opened our very first storefront. The 12-year-old with the polka dot vision would be so proud.
